Why I wanted to be part of the curling tour:

I have been lucky enough to play against the incoming Canadian Strathcona tourists on the last two visits. Being able to join and participate as a member of the outgoing tour to Canada would fulfil a long term ambition I have held for many years.

Curling for me is much more than winning, although it is always favoured! It is about playing against old friends while also making new ones, taking part, promoting the sport and most of all about having fun with a lot of laughter along the way. Even on the days when things may not go so well, once you step off the ice the scores are largely forgotten and we enjoy the frivolity of the social side of our sport.

For me, touring Canada would be best experienced while I am still young enough to play the roaring game to the best of my abilities and before my knee’s and joints start to creak and complain too much.

Hobbies/Interests:

  • Curling
  • Photography – I focus on Landscape, Wildlife, Macro, Astro & Sports. Though happy to try other genres.
  • Baseball.  Fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees and Houston Astro’s (in that order).  Attended the 2019 London Series and visited Rodger Centre in August 2019 to see the Jays against the Astro’s.
  • Walking / Hiking – Touring Scotland to walk roads less travelled for the purpose of photography, but also keep fit and walk our Dog.
