  • Club secretary and treasurer
  • Province treasurer
  • Coaching – I coach at Aberdeen, mainly primary school groups and adult beginners.
  • Umpiring – I trained as a timekeeper and umpire in 2017. Since then I have worked the clocks at many competitions, including the World Juniors, the World Wheelchairs, and three Scottish Championships. I have served as a game umpire at the Scottish Junior Championships and at two Rink Championships.
Curling Achievements:
I came to curling late. My relatively short experience (coupled with limited talent and physical decline) has kept me well away from any major trophies. I do not feel bad about this, and take pleasure from the occasional well played or well swept stone and from the camaraderie of the game.
I helped to organise the Canadian men’s visit to Aberdeen in January 2018. This included fundraising, accounting, recruitment of home teams, and entertainment planning as well as playing.
Why I wanted to be part of the curling tour:
I have seen the strength of Canadian curling in international competitions, and I know about their strength at Provincial and local levels. I want to experience Canadian curling first hand, and to support the historical bond that exists between curling in our two countries. I look forward to visiting the rinks, to meeting the payers, and to seeing the country. This will be the highlight of my curling career.
Hobbies/Interests:
When not curling my other main hobbies are beekeeping and hillwalking.
