Why I wanted to be part of the curling tour:
I have had the pleasure of playing against the Canadian Strathcona tourists on their last two visits in 2009 and 2018. Playing on Canadian ice would bring these enjoyable experiences
full circle.
Of all the sports I have ever tried, curling has become the most compelling for me – a mix of physical and mental exertion. After over 20 years, I am just starting to understand the tactics! The
tour gives me the ideal opportunity to play against the highest standard of player and improve my whole game. I also follow my father-in-law who went on the Strathcona Tour in 1993 so he won’t have a monopoly on family bragging rights any more!
Hobbies/Interests:
  • Golf – member of the St Andrews Golf Club and Fortrose & Rosemarkie GC country member. Handicap of 13
  • Curling – I’ve played the sport for 21 years and follow in my grandfather’s footsteps. I have his personalised 1930’s curling stones.
  • Walking / Cycling – I love to enjoy the Scottish countryside on 2 feet or 2 wheels.
  • Sport watching – I follow most sports and have a season ticket for Dundee United FC. I also watch my daughter play (field) hockey whenever I can where she has played for Scotland up to U18 level.
